ESOL 3713 ESOL Methods, Curriculum, and Assessment

In-depth study of evidence-based practices and requirements in the field of ESOL that both delivers instruction that supports and accelerates English language acquisition with benchmarks-aligned academic content to provide language support at varying English proficiency levels. This study includes planning for standards-based instruction for ELLS and the effective use of resources and technologies. Key factors and consideration in assessment for ELLS and classroom-based assessments for ELLs are also a focus. Field experience is not required. Prerequisite: Admission to the School of Education or permission from the Dean of the School of Education. Four semester hours credit.
