2026 - 2027 Academic Catalog

PHY 201 Physics I

This course provides algebra-based introduction to the fundamental principles of classical physics for health science students. Topics include kinematics, Newton’s laws of motion, work and energy, momentum, rotational motion, oscillations, waves, and basic fluid mechanics. Emphasis is placed on conceptual understanding, quantitative problem solving, and applications to biological and healthcare systems such as biomechanics and fluid flow. The laboratory component reinforces theoretical concepts through experimental investigation, data analysis, and scientific reasoning. 3 credit hours.
