PSY 491 Advanced Behavioral Sciences Internship

An advanced internship course that offers psychology majors the opportunity to work closely with a faculty mentor in a range of academic and professional contexts. Students will engage in meaningful academic experiences such as assisting with course development, drafting and reviewing research proposals, contributing to ongoing faculty research projects, and exploring pathways for academic and professional advancement. Through hands-on collaboration and mentorship, students will gain insight into the academic profession, refine research and communication skills, and deepen their understanding of the discipline. Three semester hours.

Prerequisite

Evaluation for selection is based on performance in assigned coursework, reflection of personal work, work ethic, and feedback from faculty throughout a student’s career in the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program. Students will be referred for the course by faculty, and the faculty and Dean will meet to determine selection for the course each semester.
